Time with Adra and Bri - Part 5
By Brianne A. Alcinoos
June 28, 2007

Talk about a scatter-brained individual, Brianne was certainly one of the worst. The night before the date, she had been running all around, getting a tux picked out and calling in a few favors from some of her family’s friends, just to make this all go off without a hitch. She herself had been up to nearly three in the morning with her personal seamstress, making little alterations on the dress design she had chosen, not that Terisa really minded as it gave her a reason to visit. She had been curious about this boy anyways, but when Bri told her she wouldn’t be meeting him yet, a brow was raised and she just shook her head, “So you think, so you think.”

The second part of the outfit gig was getting Bromley and Partners to do the tux fitting – on the spot. This one required her mother’s tongue, because while the men would do nearly anything for the family, they would do it at half the cost if it was Mother asking, which then led to questions of when the family was going to be meeting this new boyfriend of hers. But the Bromley’s had agreed and early the morning of the scheduled date, she gave them directions to Adratha’s place and the small carriage carrying them was off.

A bit later, more than they had expected, the men stepped out of their carrier and cast eyes about, peering at the cabin with questioning looks to one another. Finally, Brimley let the way to the door, rapping on it a few times while waiting for the one the little Miss had called Adratha. Brimley was a tall, lanky fellow, wearing a matching tall top head that was thinner at the base and sort of ended up larger on the top. His brother, Bramley, was a shorter man, though wore a bit of lifts in his shoes to appear not so short next to his brother.

When the door would be opened, the two would bow and hold forth an envelope which contained a note from the Miss Brianne.

Dearest Adratha,

May I present to you Brimley and Bramley, two of the best tux crafters from my homelands. I had them create a suit for you for this evening, something in a gray that would bring out your eyes. Given this is a surprise, it also means I had to guess on measurements, and while I believe they should be rather close, allow the brothers to do a few alterations to make it comfortable. I will be by myself later in the day, but for now I am making myself beautiful for our date this day.

Preparing myself,
Brianne

The men were watching him read the letter ever so carefully, pulling the gray suit free of its protective sleeve when they felt he was somewhere around that area of the note. Brimley was holding it up high, while Bramley was holding the end of the pants legs up to show Adratha the fine stitching that had been done, having fully been warned they might be turned away on the spot if he was unsatisfied.
